History of Nelson and Choice Payment Solutions
Established in April of 2016, Choice Payment Solutions are owned and operated by local entrepreneur Nelson Crowder. While the company is only a few years old, the history of Nelson's involvement in point of sale payments began in 2005 when a friend was visiting Saskatoon from Halifax. They worked for UNPS, which is now called First Data. Over the course of a meal and a couple of beers, they discussed electronic payments and POS systems. Things went well and shortly after Nelson accepted a Regional Account Manager position with the company. Nelson was unfamiliar with sales but had strong customer service skills from his previous role as an IT Technician. This experience proved to be helpful when managing and building customer relationships.
There were many changes in the POS (Point of Sale) industry between February 2005 and starting his own company in 2016. The cost of accepting payments drastically changed over this time along with major advances in the technology. Terminals were ( and still are ) constantly changing and upgrading, as was the speed of payments. It's an exciting time to be in business!
Nelson and Choice Payments Solutions primarily conducts business in the Saskatchewan however, they do have clients across Canada. They go to market through various local partners including the Greater Saskatoon Chamber Of Commerce and they have technology partners that provide cutting edge solutions to clients.

Nelson is committed to the community and can be seen supporting many non- profits and business events. Most recently Choice Payment Solutions provided sponsorship of the Care For Kids by Wiegers Alice In Funderland Comedy Cabaret a 2019 event that raised over $500,000.00 in 1 evening for the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital

Out of the office, Nelson enjoys spending time with his two children Emma & Jackson. They enjoy fishing, snowmobiling and travelling for adventures with family and friends.
